The Sfax Faculty of Medicine is one of the oldest institutions of Sfax University for the South. It was created according to the low nb 74/83 of December 11th, 1974.
It is located in the town centre, in the vicinity of two university hospitals : the Hedi Chaker and Habib Bourguiba hospitals. Both provide all types of medical, surgical and biological specialties and very good training fields for our medical students, residents and university fellows.
For the last three decades and thanks to Professor Abdelhafidh SELLAMI, dean and founder, and to the deans who followed him : Professors Habib Mokhtar JEDDI, Ali TRIKI and Abdelmajid ZAHAF, the Sfax faculty of medicine has acquired various solid buildings, equipment and reputation :

- six auditorium which can hold 130 to 500 students.
- a library with a reading room for 350 students.
- a multimedia library connected to the Internet, an important tool for audio-visual document preparation.
- a room for medical informatics.
- 13 laboratories for teaching tutorials and research .
- an intranet web connecting the different structures .
